This page is a tutorial for taking screen-shots, and is featured here for those wishing to send bug reports or other images to the NETDUMA forums.
Firstly, arrange your screen to include everything you wish to capture in a screen-shot. Then, at the top of your keyboard, next to the key “F12”, there is a button that says “Prt Scr” or “Print Screen”. Press that button.
You won't notice that anything has happened, but it has saved the screen shot to your clipboard. Next open up the “Paint” application. Press the paste button in the top left hand corner of the window. If you cannot see the paste button or are using an older version of paint, click the “edit” tab and then click paste from there. Alternatively you can press Ctrl + v on your keyboard to paste.
Don't worry about resizing the image. Just save the file as a PNG to your desktop or somewhere you can easily find it. Then upload it to an image sharing website such as the NETDUMA Forum Upload Page or Imgur.
On Mac, you can press cmd + shift + 3 to take a screen shot of your full screen or cmd + shift + 4 to select the area that you would like to take a screen shot of. The screen shots will save to your desktop by default.
Move to the view that you would like to take a screen-shot of. Then on the top of your keyboard, next the “F12” key, there is a button that says “Prt Scr” or “Print Screen”. Press that button! You will then be prompted as to where you would like to save the image. Save it somewhere where you can easily find it, such as your desktop.
Once installed, to take a screen shot, open up the program, and then either click a window to take a screen-shot of the full screen or drag to select an area to take a screen shot of. Once it has automatically uploaded, a web page will open with the image on it.
How should I give you the screen shot?
Paste the link into your forum post. To make it easier for the person helping, you can very easily embed it into your post by pressing the 'Image' button and pasting the link for your screen shot into there.
Here is a YouTube Video to show you how to do it:
